Pattern 3 - Sunflowers

Sunflowers aren’t too common in The Netherlands, but they are mostly grown in the eastern part of the country, because of the warmer summer climate compared to the west. The sunflower was depicated on the old 50 Dutch Guilder note, which was the Dutch currency from the Medieval times until 2002 when it was replaced by the Euro. The reason it was on the 50 Guilder note was because of the famous Sunflower painting by Vincent van Gogh, although he got his sunflower inspiration from the sunflower fields in France.
